In Japan, great importance is attached to the blade of the sword. There is no doubt that the blade is the most technically demanding element of a samurai sword. On a closed sword, however, the blade is not visible at all.
In Europe, great importance is also attached to tsuba, kashira, fuchi and menuki. On closer inspection, these are very beautiful, artistically decorated elements.
In the broadest sense, the saya hardly receives any attention. It is more or less just a means to an end, so that the blade "fits" somewhere.
The scabbard is the largest visible element of a closed sword. For us, the saya is therefore a very important part of the sword and this category is dedicated exclusively to it.
