Product description:
The tanto is made in the Aikuchi style. This style is considered particularly noble and was favoured by the high nobility of ancient Japan.
Aikuchi means that the handle merges directly into the knife sheath. This creates a particularly harmonious effect and gives this style its special look.
The blade is countered by a wooden pin (mekugi) in the handle. This is embedded in the handle and artistically decorated with a black diamond. The metallic lacquer finish rounds off the knife's outstanding appearance.
The blade made of high-quality 1095 carbon steel forms the centrepiece of the Tanto.
A blade hardness of 60 HRC is achieved with the clay hardening technique. The blade has excellent cutting properties.
The sheath has a horn reinforcement at the kurigata (eyelet for the strap) and sayaguchi (opening of the scabbard).
Dimensions:
Total length with knife sheath: approx. 42.4 cm
Blade length: approx. 22 cm
Handle length: approx. 13.7 cm
