Sword umbrella
Legal: Umbrella in sword design

When assessing a sword disguised as an everyday object, it is important to observe Annex 2 Section 1 of the Weapons Act (http://www.gesetze-im-internet.de/waffg_2002/anlage_2.html), which defines prohibited weapons. In our opinion, 1.3.1 prohibits all swords that pretend to be an everyday object. In other words, walking sticks with a concealed blade and the like.

Everyday objects disguised as swords, such as umbrellas with sword handles, are a completely different matter.
In our opinion, these are not weapons as defined by law. However, §42a of the Weapons Act prohibits the carrying of apparent weapons in public. What exactly counts as an apparent weapon is defined in Annex 1 1.6. In our opinion, everyday objects with the appearance of a sword do not count as weapons that are defined as apparent weapons.
Whether other people's reactions to such objects are desired or undesired is, of course, something everyone has to decide for themselves.
