Schwert zu Ehren des Drachen (japanisch: Tatsu), dem mächtigsten Wesen in der japanischen Mythologie.
Der Griff: des Schwertes ist aus Massivholz gefertigt und mit echter Same verziert. Der Griff verfügt über 2 Mekugi, die die Klinge zuverlässig halten.
Die Klinge: wurde aus modernem Federstahl im traditionellen Shobu Zukuri Stil geschmiedet. Es ist eine Maru Kitae Klinge, die mit ca. 58 HRC komplett durchgehärtet wurde. Sie besitzt eine extreme Schärfe.
Die Schwertscheide: ist aus Massivholz gefertigt, mit schwarzer Hochglanzlackierung und sie verfügt über ein dickes, gewebtes Sageo Band in Schwarz.

The katana and wakizashi are well made and very sharp! They were dispatched quickly. Unfortunately, the tsuba of both swords was smashed through the packaging from the inside during transport, resulting in damage to the sword sheath. The tsuba remained undamaged. Perhaps a little better packaging here. Nevertheless 5 points.

Thank you for the positive review. We really do try to use as little packaging material as possible. Firstly for environmental reasons, because the packaging material only ends up in the recipient's rubbish and secondly (of course we don't want to underestimate this) this offers the opportunity for considerable savings. It is definitely a win-win situation.
Of course, every order should arrive undamaged, so thank you for your feedback and we can of course replace the damaged sword pouches.

The katana arrived today the shipping was very fast it feels very real and genuine, on the saya itself on the koiguchi and kojiri there is a kind of transparent strip looks almost as if a kind of protective tape has been removed and its traces are still visible whereby on the kojiri the black lacquer is slightly off but what exactly or what these transparent knurls were or are for I can not say unfortunately.
The katana comes in a red sword pouch with a Toshiro lettering which is very good to protect it a bit.
The blade is sharp as expected and makes a very good impression, I would recommend to handle the katana with extreme caution and respect, whereby respect is an important aspect anyway because of the tradition and also to deepen the spiritual connection to the katana, well at least that's what I do before I pull it out of the saya, I always show respect. But as I said, extreme caution is also important when handling it.
In general I am satisfied so far the saya could have some attention because of the koiguchi and kojiri, otherwise top the telephone customer service is also top and I could express my wishes by phone which I think is important phone makes it more personal and usually easier than other means. I will continue to order here.
