Shih Tzu Katana.
The blade:
was made by hand from high-quality 1060 carbon steel. Blade type: Maru. The continuous blade hardness of 50 HRC ensures top cutting properties of the blade. The blade is sharpened!
The handle:
Made of solid wood for stability and durability. Wrapped in the traditional way with black cotton grip tape. The handle is connected to the tang of the blade with 2 wooden pins for a 1001TP3 firm grip.
Top look thanks to 2 gold-coloured decorative elements.
The saya (sword sheath):
Made of wood, black lacquered. With black sageo (ribbon) and gold-coloured shito dome (decoration on the eyelet opening)
The Tsuba:
Motif: Playing Shih Tzu dogs.

-Blade length: approx. 71 cm
-Handle length: approx. 29 cm
This katana is dedicated to the legendary Shih Tzu dog, also known as the Lion Dog.
This dog plays a major role in Asian mythology. In fact, this dog breed looks like a cross between a dog and a lion thanks to the special structure of its rock.
According to legend, Buddha himself had a dog that could turn into a lion and these dogs were kept in the monasteries of Tibet as early as the 7th century!
