Blade:
Made from high-quality 1045 carbon steel. The blade hardness of 45 HRC (+/- 1 HRC, as it is a handmade sword) ensures good cutting properties and stability of the blade. It has a Bo-Hi (blood groove) for weight optimisation.
The blade is sharpened.

Tsuka (the handle):
Made of solid wood for stability and durability. With inlays of genuine blackened ray skin and wrapped with black cotton grip tape in the traditional manner. 2 wooden pins allow the blade to be held securely in the handle. Top look thanks to 2 golden decorative elements, motif: dragon.

Saya (sword scabbard):
Made of wood, painted black with black sageo (ribbon) made of cotton. Golden shito domes (decoration on the eyelet opening).
