Blind Fury samurai sword in Shirasaya style from MAS.
Blind Fury is a cult film from the 80s. In this film, the blind main character demonstrates unrivalled skills with the samurai sword, similar to the Zatoichi films.
The centrepiece of MAS swords is the blade made in Japan from L6 high-performance steel. This is then finished in South Korea and assembled with the other components to form a complete sword. The result is a sword of the highest quality at an unrivalled price.
L6 is a modern industrial steel with the best properties: it is light yet stable, hard but not brittle and hardly bends at all.
These are all properties that one would wish for in a sword, but which other types of steel do not offer in this combination.
L6 is difficult to process and this is precisely where MAS' special skills lie. Because heat treatment resulting in a usable, differential-hardened blade has so far only been achieved by the well-known master blacksmith Howard Clark and MAS.
The Koshirae is made of dark walnut wood with an elegant look.
