\nSon of: Tamba No Kami Yoshimichi<\/p>\n
Tango No Kami Naomichi was the second son of the famous blacksmith Tamba No Kami Yoshimichi. He worked in Kyoto in the early Edo period.
\nHe was a well-known representative of the Osaka Shint\u014d group. Together with his father, he was largely responsible for the popularity of the Mishina school.<\/p>\n
In the course of his life, Naomichi changed his blacksmith's name to Kanemichi, after his grandfather (Shodai Kanemichi, also known as Mishina Kanemichi). He was the founder of the Mishina school, originally from the province of Mino and later moved to Kyoto.<\/p>\n

The blade is very well preserved. The jigane is rich in ko-itame and features yubashiri and chikei. The hamon is in the sudareba style, Yoshimichi's characteristic style, with spirals and sunagashi in places.<\/p>\n
The ura side of the sword tang is inscribed with \"Seshu ni oite Nanbantetsu wo motte Kore wo Tsukuru\" = Made in Settsu province using Nanban iron.<\/p>\n
Nanban Tetsu is the steel that merchants from Portugal and the Netherlands brought to Japan. Due to the different base material and processing methods, Nanban Tetsu was considered to be particularly pure and of high quality.
\nThe basic material for the sword therefore comes from Europe and it may now find its way back to Europe.<\/p>\n
Due to its quality and good condition, the sword has been awarded Tokubetsu status (particularly worthy of preservation) by the NBTHK. The certificate is included in the offer.<\/p>\n
