\nThe centrepiece of MAS swords is the Japanese blade made from L6 high-performance steel. This is then finished in South Korea and assembled with the other components to form a complete sword. The result is a sword of the highest quality at an unrivalled price.<\/p>\n
L6 is a modern industrial steel with the best properties: it is light yet stable, hard but not brittle and hardly bends at all.
\nThese are all properties that one would wish for in a sword, but which other types of steel do not offer in this combination.
\nL6 is difficult to process and this is precisely where MAS' special skills lie. Because heat treatment resulting in a usable, differential-hardened blade has so far only been achieved by the well-known master blacksmith Howard Clark and MAS.<\/p>\n
The other components of the MAS swords are of course also of the highest quality. However, the focus is on the cutting ability of the blades.
\nThe Musashi Katana in the Competition Edition also features the popular handmade Musashi tsuba, menuki in katana look, fuchi and kashira in a sleek look and a saya with a black high-gloss finish.<\/p>\n
