The handle (tsuka) is extremely well adapted to the blade tang for this price range and a mekugi is used for an authentic look. Hishigami paper was used in the grass-green handle wrapping, which makes it very robust and is primarily used for higher-quality swords.

The blade is forged from 1095 carbon steel with differential hardening and genuine hamon. A hollow groove (Bo-Hi) is worked into the blade, which reduces the weight of the sword and produces a clearly audible sound when swinging.
