Handcrafted samurai sword with a sharp blade and exclusive look.<\/p>\n
The Sayagata symbol was chosen as the theme for this sword. In Asian mythology, it symbolises life and strength.<\/p>\n
The Maru blade is made of carbon steel with more than 0.6% carbon content. The blade has been treated with traditional clay hardening. This treatment results in a true hamon (hardening line). The straight pattern of the hardening line is called Suguha Hamon and symbolises the straightness of the Samurai. In addition, the blade has been treated with the Sashikomi blade polish, which is normally used on even more expensive blades.
This emphasises the hardening line in particular and results in an exclusive look.
The blade is sharpened.<\/p>\n
The handle also differs from other modern swords at first glance. Hishigami (paper triangles) are incorporated into the handle winding. These give the winding additional structure and are a must for high-quality swords.
The solid wood handle is so well adapted to the blade tang that a mekugi (bamboo pin) is sufficient to hold the blade in the handle.
This also corresponds to the design of much more expensive swords.
The Same inlay on the handle has a so-called Emperor Node, which signals that it was made from the highest quality piece of Samegawa.<\/p>\n
The beautiful scabbard with black Ishime lacquer finish rounds off the high-quality look of the sword perfectly.
All in all a very high quality Katana, which is of course also suitable for cutting exercises.<\/p>\n
