Honsanmai blade, which means that steel grades of different hardness were actually used for the forging process and not one and the same grade, as you often see on the internet.
\nHonsanmai is a sophisticated construction as it contains 3 different hardnesses. However, it is often used because it is still relatively simple.<\/p>\n
The core and back of this sword have a hardness of 40-42 HRC. The cutting edge of the blade has a hardness of 58-60 HRC. The sides have a hardness of 50-52 HRC.
\nThe blade has been clay-hardened. The hamon is of course genuine.<\/p>\n
Otherwise, only the highest quality materials were used for this sword, such as the solid wood for the saya. All fittings are made of metal.<\/p>\n
The handle wrapping is Katate Maki, commonly known as war wrapping.
\nDemons are depicted on the tsuba.<\/p>\n
