Product description:
Katana sword with the popular Tonbo (dragonfly) motif. The dragonfly is depicted on many antique swords.
The Tonbo Katana from Toshiro Swords has a Shinogi Zukuri blade with Honsanmai construction with a hard cutting edge and softer core, which corresponds to the traditional construction of a sword blade. The blade is sharpened and has a hardness of 60 HRC on the cutting edge. The sword is designed for cutting exercises with tatami mats and bamboo.
The scabbard is made of solid wood and has a traditional ring design. With the contrast to the beige grip band and the sageo (band on the scabbard), the sword makes a sublime impression, which goes very well with the dragonfly motif.
The handle is made of solid wood and the wide blade tang is countered in the handle by two mekugi, which provides very good stability. The handle is relatively wide and also suitable for large hands.

I am very surprised at how well made the blade is. The hamon is real and it definitely feels good in the hand. It's not top-heavy nor very handle-heavy, balance is perfect. Is it sharp? Yes it is! The T10 steel is probably my favourite steel in terms of strength, durability and robustness. L6 is not necessarily better, as it is more difficult to work with. The blade is actually too good for a cutting test! The workmanship is good overall, the only things I have to criticise are the following: Processing of the Tsuka Ito is even but not very firm. I suspect this is because the bamboo pins are covered by the ito and can therefore be pushed aside. The saya doesn't quite fit and you have to push the blade back carefully and with some caution otherwise it won't "fit". Why do I still give it 5 stars? Because the blade gets everything out of it. It has a very nice hamon! Incidentally, the old swords of the Japanese were not particularly well made, the saya were actually changed every few years by the samurai. The most important element was always the blade! The handle also frequently changed its winding and shape. Incidentally, the delivery was lightning fast, all of which deserves 5 points.

The Katana is 1A !
@GM : Drawing and supplying the katana must always be done with care = basis of Iaito. Or you have a saya in which the katana rattles.
The counter-rotating winding of the Tsuka-Ito is also traditionally correct, once again the Katana is top.
