The centrepiece of MAS swords is the Japanese blade made from L6 high-performance steel. This is then finished in South Korea and assembled with the other components to form a complete sword. The result is a sword of the highest quality at an unrivalled price.
L6 is a modern industrial steel with the best properties: it is light yet stable, hard but not brittle and hardly bends at all.
These are all properties that one would wish for in a sword, but which other types of steel do not offer in this combination.
L6 is difficult to process and this is precisely where MAS' special skills lie. Because heat treatment resulting in a usable, differential-hardened blade has so far only been achieved by the well-known master blacksmith Howard Clark and MAS.

Thanks to the team for the fast processing and dispatch after receipt of payment, was extremely satisfied. The sword is really impressive and high quality - also the weight is very light just great. The only thing I have to criticise is unfortunately the sharpness - as the blade is only sharp from halfway to the tip I am a little disappointed.
