Information about the blacksmith:
The blacksmith Hidemune's real name was Matsubara Ryuhei. He was born in Nagano in 1930 and lived in Sekiguchi, Seki City, Gifu Province.
His father was Matsubara Kaneyoshi and he was a student of the famous swordsmiths Kawashima Masahide and Nakata Kanehide in the 13th generation.
He has won numerous awards as a blacksmith.
Information about the mount:
The blade is mounted in a classic katana mount. With black saya with high-gloss lacquer finish. The grip is made of black cotton. Very discreet overall look. In contrast, a light-coloured sageo band, as is often found on Japanese katana.
This sword is currently still in Japan. We will take care of the import handling (all costs including customs are included in the price) if you decide to buy it.
With the sword you will receive a copy of the Japanese weapons registration, which confirms that the sword has been registered as a genuine sword in Japan.
