Bound Tatami Omote mat for Tameshigiri cutting exercises. The mat measures 108 x 200 cm when rolled out and is therefore considerably larger than most mats available on the market.
The length allows more cuts and the mat is also optimised for soaking in a standard dn 110 pipe.
The mat is a high-quality branded product and attention has been paid to the important details:

Continuous fibres:
You can't always see it at first glance in online pictures, but many inexpensive tatami omote have a joint in the centre where two pieces of mat are sewn together. This is because such mats are sewn together from 2 bath mats.
The mats from Toshiro Swords, on the other hand, are made of continuous fibres because this gives the mats more stability and the mat behaves much better in cutting tests.

Traditionally rolled:
The Toshiro Swords mats are rolled in the traditional way (with the end folded over). Many other manufacturers do not use this method because it is much more time-consuming than simply rolling up the mat. However, the traditional method gives the mat additional stability and makes it easier to attach to the Tameshigiri stand.

Binding made from hemp fibre:
The hemp fibre binding is an important safety feature for your sword! If you hit the binding with the sword (and this will happen sooner or later), the sword will simply cut the fibre. With other mats, the binding is often made of wire for cost reasons and scratches the blade when cutting.

Optimised for watering in a dn 110 standard pipe
The dimensions of the mat have been chosen so that it can be optimally watered in a dn110 pipe with minimal water consumption. The mat is approx. 20% longer than most mats on the market, which allows for additional cuts.

The fibre thickness is approx. 1-2 mm. The mat is of high quality. It is equally suitable for beginners and advanced users.
Each mat is individually shrink-wrapped. This keeps moisture away from the mat so that it can be stored for a long time.
