Base for sword care and appraisal of a Japanese sword.

The microfibre pad protects the blade from accidental scratches. The surface is water-repellent so that the cloth does not get wet and damage the blade. The underside of the mat has a thin padding.

The mat features an art print of a Japanese sword. It is the work of master blacksmith Sadatoshi Gassan, the head of the Gassan school, which has existed since the 12th century.
