Product description:
The Aoi Domoe Katana has an outstanding look with a blue scabbard and a blue grip band on a black seed.
During production, particular attention is paid to the quality and usability of the swords. High-quality, traditional materials are used, such as the solid wood for the sword handle, genuine ray skin or the horn reinforcements on the scabbard.
Together with the blade made of modern 9260 spring steel, this sword combines tradition with modernity.
The spring steel blade forms the centrepiece of the sword. This steel achieves a respectable hardness. The blade is extremely sharp and performs well in cutting tests. However, the 9260 high-performance steel is also forgiving of the occasional mistake without immediately breaking.
The blade is made in the traditional Shinogi Zukuri style, with Maru Kitae construction. The 9260 steel is fully hardened with a hardness of approx. 58 HRC. The blade is light and therefore extremely easy to handle.
Dimensions:
Total length with saya: approx. 105 cm
Total length of sword: approx. 102 cm
Handle length: approx. 28.5 cm
Weight with saya: approx. 1270 grams
Sword weight: approx. 1020 grams
The sword is designed for use with Tatami Omote mats. It offers a sensational price/performance ratio!

Is there any experience with this sword for tameshigiri and bamboo (!). Or is this katana only suitable for tatami?

Hello,
We have already used it to cut tatami.
Bamboo has not yet been tested. For this we rather recommend this model.
We'll be putting a few editing videos online soon, but unfortunately we don't have the time at the moment. But there are already several videos in production. So it's already worth our while YouTube channel to subscribe.

It's always nice when product description promises are kept. At most, it should be mentioned that the Niku are actually black, as in the video, and not golden, as in the product photos. But in my opinion, black looks even better.
It is otherwise in exactly the same condition as in the unboxing video below.
The blade is really extremely sharp. And the workmanship is top notch! The materials also all feel high-quality. The steel of the blade is really interesting. Therefore a must for my collection.
High praise for the company philosophy and work of Samuraischwert.kaufen and the quality of the products. The price-performance ratio is absolutely brilliant.
Conclusion here too: Highly recommended.

After the third "Un Boxing" video, I now have my personal €200 limit
broken itself.
The hammer! Now I have my first daisho in blue - katana and wakizashi from Toshiro.
The upper mid-range without extras, at a mid-range price. A sturdy tool

On the high-gloss stand from "DerShogun" a real eye-catcher in my home.

Slipping out during the presentation is not necessary.
For the transport I got myself a lockable sword bag, the original
burgundy Toshiro cloth bag for my bokken.
If your first cutting test is not successful, it may be due to your technique. Or
Slight soiling of the blade can reduce the sharpness.
My tip: remove the oil layer and wood residue (normal) from the saya with a cloth before use.
After use, be sure to oil the blade again. The care set is included.
A slight rattling in the saya is normal when shaking, the katana needs room to move.

I was able to further improve the sharpness of my wakizashi by polishing it with sword powder.

Dear Andara Team,
A wonderful sword. The colour combination is even more beautiful in real life. A real eye-catcher when presented as a solitaire standing upright. Many thanks for the fast and professional purchase and delivery process.

A very beautiful sword.
The unusual colour and the spring steel of the blade make it something special.
Tsuka and habaki sit firmly. The tsuka maki is not quite up to Japanese standards (which was to be expected), but is sufficiently grippy and non-slip. The lack of gold and silver applications on the koshirae emphasises the simple elegance of this katana.
Many thanks to Mr Pfeiffer and his team for their excellent customer service.
Absolute recommendation for Samurai sword.buy.
