Tanto Mumei - 26512
This piece is a tanto from the Shinto era with Soken and Gomahashi engravings on both sides of the blade.
Gomahashi is one of the Dharma tools of esoteric Buddhism. The gomahashi is also considered a symbol of the deity Fudo Myoo.
The blade is in very good condition and shows no defects or chipping. However, the hiraji has a thin trace of rust on the sashiomote side, about 12 cm from the kissaki. The jigane is well made on the itame hada, and yubashiri is visible. Hamon is a notare-like suguha mixed with gunome.
