Daisho samurai sword pair consisting of a katana long sword and a wakizashi short sword.
Two masterpieces of Asian blacksmithing.
The blades:
Forged by hand from 1095 carbon steel and clay-hardened, resulting in a hardness of approx. 60 HRC on the cutting edge and approx. 40 HRC on the back of the blade.
This ensures the best cutting properties and durability of the blades.
Blade type: Maru, sharp ground.

The handles:
Are made of solid wood. The blades are held in the handle by 2 bamboo pins for a 1001TP3 firm grip.
The sword scabbards:
Made of wood, painted black.
These swords have been designed without any frills!
It is simply two very well forged, simple swords, as a samurai would probably have carried them in battle.

The delivery was quick and uncomplicated. The wakizashi fulfils all expectations - stable, beautiful hamon and very sharp.
The katana is also sturdy and has a nice hamon, but is nowhere near as sharp as the short sword and therefore falls short of expectations.
You have to put the finishing touches to this, so only 4 out of 5 stars.

Today it's back - sharp as a rat, as it should be.
