Yoshihiro - 62420
Mei (signature): Bingo no Kuni Yoshihiro Saku
Information about the swordsmith:
Name: Kubo Yoshihiro
Trained by: Yoshiwara Yoshindo
Kubo Yoshihiro has received numerous awards in blacksmithing competitions. He has Mukansa status and is a living cultural heritage in Japan.
From the very beginning of his career as a swordsmith, his aim was to forge blades that enjoyed the same prestige as the great works from the Kamakura period (1185-1333), which is considered impossible.
Information about the sword:
Nagasa (blade length): 24.8 cm
Sori (curvature): 0.3 cm
Nakago (blade fishing rod): Ubu
The tanto is strongly influenced by a work of the famous Bizen Osafune blacksmith Kagemitsu. It has an unusual element known as "Kagemitsu no Utsuri". The hamon has a slight shading, a trademark of Kagemitsu blades.
This detail was long considered impossible to reproduce. However, Yoshihiro has managed it with this blade and created a uniquely beautiful work.
The offer includes a document from the AJSA (All Japan Swordsmith Association) confirming that it is a genuine Japanese sword.
This sword is currently still in Japan. We will take care of the import process if you decide to buy it.
