Tanto 16th century

7000 EUR

Description:

On offer is a tanto with certificate.
The information I have about this is as follows:
The blacksmith Musamasa made a unique nakago called Tangobara, which was found in the Shitahara school in Musashi province.
There is a theory that Muramasa passed on his technique to shitahara smiths.
The Shitahara smithy gave its swords to Kuwana Shrine, which is why it is speculated that the two schools had a close relationship.
Tanto's blacksmith is probably the one who had a close relationship with Muramasa and "inherited" the nakago and the corresponding initials and brought them to this school.
The hardness zone (hamon) is also very close to that of Muramasa.

All this information was passed on by a specialist to the previous owner of the Tanto when it was purchased.
